Introduction

Hi. My name is Matt and I'm The Dublin Drummer. I've been into music and playing drums ever since I was ten and in this blog I hope to show a little about what it takes to be a musician, while still doing all the homework we get assigned.  I'm going to put up some pictures of a few really cool instruments, maybe a couple of songs, and just talk about stuff from hard rock all the way back to some killer jazz riffs. After I do all that I might even remember to do the class readings and finish that homework I keep forgetting about. Music has been a part of my life for a long time, so it's something I'm very passionate about. I've played in a band or two, which didn't totally work out the way we hoped. But then again, it never really does. In Dublin I've been the drumline instructor at the local High School and Middle School since 2009. The only issue is that it doesn't quite pay the bills. Therefore, it's back off to school to get a degree and see if I can't make music a part of my life in a more financial kind of setting. I am taking English 1A in order to learn how to more accurately vocalize my opinions and write out my thoughts. That and it's a required course so I'd have to take it eventually. Two birds, one stone. At the moment I am a business major, which doesn't leave me a lot of time for music anymore. However, the hard work, dedication, and organization skills I have learned through all my years of practice will probably be the most important tool I have to help me pass my classes and get a degree. Well, that's about all I have to say and I think I answered all the questions pretty accurately so let me see if I can't figure out how to post any music before I log off.
